It may seem odd to think the lyrics we sing to ourselves, our thoughts and beliefs, have such a dynamic role in our realities, yet they define everything about the world we live in. They define how we greet ourselves in the morning. They define how we identify ourselves individually, in relationships, and in society. They define whether we think we are “good” or “bad,” or whether we are “smart” (by society’s standards) or “stupid.” They define if you feel safe or unsafe, scared or relaxed, loved or unlovable. They are the lenses through which we see the world, and they reflect back to us what we are singing.
Thoughts are not our realities, yet through them we create our realities. What songs are you singing to yourself? What lyrics are you hearing reflected back to you? And most importantly, are you happy with the way you live?
Know that when you start singing different lyrics and dancing to different beats, your reality will shift with them–sometimes super fast, sometimes like a slow trickle…that all depends on how tightly you are still holding onto your old lyrics.
What are you singing today that is creating or enhancing your reality?
